Psychosocial services - Service offer

CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest

Overview of psychosocial services available to the population

Psychosocial intake - Intake, analysis, orientation and referral (AAOR)

Main entrance of the CISSS. After doing a needs assessment, the social worker refers the person, family or couple requesting help to general social/psychological consultation services, or to other appropriate services, such as specific network resources, community resources, crisis centre, etc.

24/7 psychosocial phone consultations (Info-Social)

Ad hoc phone consultation service for people who need information, intervention, referrals, a professional opinion or advice on social service-related issues. As needed, requests received outside of the CISSS’s business hours are quickly forwarded to the psychosocial intake department for further analysis/intervention. Our territory is served by the CISSS de la Montérégie-Centre.

Social or psychological consultations

Individual, couples, family or group interventions. These short-term interventions are based on proven approaches in the field of social and psychological interventions. The goal of social interventions is to improve the social functioning of individuals, couples or families by helping them to change their behaviour and by meeting their community and social needs.

Community-based crisis intervention

The community-based crisis intervention service is provided by a worker from the CISSS or a community organization under the terms of an agreement. In the Montérégie-Ouest region, this service is provided by the community organization Le Tournant on the territories of Valleyfield, Vaudreuil and Haut-Saint-Laurent, and by La Maison Sous les Arbres on the territories of Châteauguay, St-Constant and Candiac, in partnership with the general social services department at the CISSS.

Psychosocial intervention in civil security

This service, which is part of Québec’s Civil Security Plan, is intended for people who are left in a vulnerable situation after disaster strikes. It is deployed in specific situations where civil security is threatened.
