CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest

The CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest has two main mandates related to housing for older adults and people living with a loss of autonomy:

  • Help people to remain independent, regardless of their disability, so they can stay at home safely for as long as possible.
  • Provide housing for older adults and people experiencing a loss of autonomy.

We offer a range of services to fulfill these mandates, based on the users’ needs. Dedicated units are available in some CHSLDs:

  • Post-acute care unit
  • Palliative care unit
  • Unit for residents with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia
  • Temporary housing unit
  • Secured unit
  • Men’s unit
  • Crisis unit
  • Unit for young adults with multiple disabilities
  • Intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders unit

In our residences, every effort is made to create a living environment that is as close to home as possible. Our goal is to help older adults and people experiencing a loss of autonomy. First and foremost, they are people with individual physical, psychological and social needs, but also with capacities that need to be preserved and experiences to share.

Our goal is to provide residents with a living environment where they can maintain family ties and friendships, and above all, where life is good.
